                         e de modelagem num{\'e}rica s{\~a}o ferramentas ess{\^e}ncias e 
                         complementares para monitorar a posi{\c{c}}{\~a}o da pluma e 
                         prever as poss{\'{\i}}veis {\'a}reas de risco. ABSTRACT - The 
                         Chilean volcano Puyehue erupted several times during June 2011 and 
                         released high gases and aerosols concentrations. This event has 
                         seriously affected the airline industry and civil activities in 
                         South America. This article aims to describe the volcanic ash 
                         traces monitoring using satellite image and chemical transport 
                         model CATT-BRAMS. Preliminary results show that information from 
                         satellites and numerical modeling are complementary tools to 
                         monitor the plume position and predict the possible risk areas.",
